Stop Order

The stop order is like the market if touched order, in that when a specified price is encountered by the market the order becomes activated. Conversely however, the buy stop order is placed above the market and the sell stop is placed below the market. There are also buy and sell trailing stop orders where the stop is consequtively raised or lowered, respectively, in a trailing movement with the market. The order may or may not get filled.
