Futures Automated Trading Systems: Tools
Much of the trading volume is now executed by automatic programs for the trader.
These system tools are being supplied by brokerages and purchased outright alike. As they continue to become increasingly complex, some of these tools include features like:
- scanning
tools (performing some analysis) that may actively scour the
markets to meet user-defined parameters, prior to the trade order
taking
place
- indicators that are customized per trader methodology
- an interface with brokers that quickly executes trades
Though not an automated trading platform per se, yet another automatic tool used in combination with the direct trade platform; online polling has recently been introduced that, in connection with instant messaging, can potentialy reveal opportunities to traders and help track market exchange prices.
Users can browse together and share while possibly gaining insight into the process.
Other Automated Futures Trading Developments:
One point
of debate in using the automatic systems has to do with traders and their IRS
trader tax status - whether or not they are in fact full time traders when utilizing
such systems while they are physically absent from the process. - Yet trading
rules have been emplaced by the trader prior to the order taking place, thus
enabling it; and in effect making trading decisions before they actually take
place.
This, it seems, has not been clearly defined and is subject to much debate among individual traders since the associated tax benefits that accompany being a full time trader is at stake.
